the pain is rough. tough enough to see with a smile on my face. don’t know which direction to go, no blinker. sitting by a fire, chest tight. will this ever drown out, or linger? 

thinking of the ones that had it. the ones with talent. who chose a new place to sit. emotionally ambivalent. everything right in those palms. gave up too early or gave in too easy? echo through the intercoms.

fail. climb back up. fail. no need to checkup. repeat, repeat. mistakes n’ failures don’t define. when it coalesces, bittersweet. again, again. redefine.
